The Skowhegan Planning Board has an open seat for an Alternate member. An Alternate member is responsible for attending meetings and being prepared to vote should a regular member be absent. Planning Board members play a key role in the the development and growth of their community. Members will review development proposals, interpret and apply land use regulations, be involved in public engagement, and help with long-term planning for the Town. Members are required to stay current on land use laws, planning principles and local ordinances. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. If there is a need for a second meeting in a month, it is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm.
