The Town of Skowhegan is proud to announce that at this year's 22nd Annual Maine Recycling & Solid Waste Conference & Trade Show presented by the Maine Resource Recovery Association, Randall Gray and the entire team at the Skowhegan Solid Waste and Recycling Facility received the award for Compost Program of the Year.
Randall and the team at the facility continue to grow and improve the compost program for the Town of Skowhegan. Last year they were able to provide almost 900 yards of premium compost for the residents of Skowhegan. They have also started accepting food scraps from residents through a pilot program and hope to continue to grow the amount they can take in. By adding the food scraps to the compost it makes an even better product and takes those valuable materials out of the regular household trash. If anyone would like more information about joining in our composting program please feel free to contact Randall Gray or Cynthia Kirk at 207-474-6904.
Once again congratulations to Randy and the entire team at the Skowhegan Solid Waste and Recycling Facility for receiving this award for their wonderful compost program.
