On July 14, 2015, Senator Rodney Whittemore presented Randy Gray the supervisor of the Town of Skowhegan Solid Waste and Recycling Facility with a Legislative Sentiment for receiving the Compost Program of the Year award. The Town saves about $15,000.00 a year in trash disposal fees by diverting material away from the waste stream and into the compost pile. The 127th Legislature and the people of the State of Maine congratulate The Town of Skowhegan and its Solid Waste and Recycling Facility on this award.
Randy would like to thank his staff of five: Clyde Merrill, Al White, Steve Foss, James Travers, and Wayne Householder. Also to thank Cindy Kirk who keeps both myself and the staff at the Solid Waste & Recycle Facility that holds us all together.
