Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County, 41 Main Street, Skowhegan, will offer Certified Hospice Volunteer Training to those interested in offering 2-4 hours a week to individuals and their families who are facing a life limiting illness.
Training is set to start on October 26th and go for four weeks ending November 16th, please pre-register by October 23rd. Classes will be held on Monday and Thursday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Volunteers will provide companionship, compassionate listening, respite for caregivers and bereavement support for family members, according to a news release from Hospice.
