Posted on: February 14, 2017[ARCHIVED] Job Corps is Taking Applications
Job Corps is the nation's largest and most successful educational and vocational training program for low income youth ages 16 to 24. Unlike other educational and vocational programs, Job Corps provides year-round enrollment, vocational skills, employability training, and job placement for our graduates. Students who enroll in Job Corps can earn a GED, learn a trade, take college level courses, prepare for higher education and gain the practical skills they need to succeed in the workplace.
Job Corps is currently accepting new applications for enrollment at several of the Job Corps Centers in New England. They can provide an ideal setting for young people to focus, plan and prepare for their future. Students can choose from various vocational offerings, including Automotive Mechanics, Carpentry, Electrical Wiring, Certified Nursing Assistant, Culinary Arts, Medical Office Technology, Welding, Business and more. Drivers' education, health and dental services, career counseling, basic computer training, and meals are also provided - all at no cost to the student or their family as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
Please feel free to refer interested youth at my number below. Program orientations are conducted weekly. Job Corps would also be happy to arrange a presentation with your organization at your convenience to review the many benefits of the Job Corps program.
You can reach The Augusta Maine office at (207) 621-2350. Please contact for further information Catherine Gavett by email at gavett.catherine@jobcorps.org .
