Good afternoon,
We just provided an agency notification late yesterday that Brookfield Renewable plans to drawdown the Weston Project (FERC No. 2325-ME) impoundment approximately 8.5 feet on Thursday, December 10th to remove woody debris and conduct gate maintenance. There are currently favorable river flows and a window to safely conduct the maintenance work. The drawdown will tentatively begin today.
Dropping below the normal operating limit (normal pond elevation is 156’ msl) will enable our personnel to safely remove woody debris and repair the stanchion (top) gates. The work is expected to be completed in one day. There will be staff onsite to address any flow condition changes, monitor for fish stranding and to assure minimum flow. The downstream fish passage will be opened for the duration of the maintenance work. The pond refill will commence following the completion of the work on Thursday.
Please be in touch if you have any questions.
Best,
Miranda
